The Army Painter – Speedpaint is a range of water based acrylic paints based on an innovative resin medium that acts as a heavy body wash, accumulating pigment in the recessed areas of a model, while covering more thinly on the raised areas to simulate the application of shadows and highlights. This new approach to paint formulation allows for a very effective “one coat” application that simulates shade and highlight to create a great range of depth and contrast to a model in a single coat of paint.
Designed to be applied over The Army Painter primers. Lighter colored primers or a “zenithal” primer coat of lighter colors applied from above over darker colors applied from below will offer the best results.
Packaged in plastic 18ml dropper bottles.
This Army painter speedpaint does a good job of highlighting the highpoints and shadowing the low points of your model. This is good for a newer painter, like me, or for getting through lots of models that don't need amazing detail.
Whether I was supposed to or not, I even mixed this with other colors and it still performed as expected. I had a miniature with fur and mixing with white paint, and some thinner, gave very white high spots, and dark grey low spots, which is what I was looking for.
I am pleased with the product, and I was happy with with the price.
