Vallejo - Liquid Gold
Brilliant metallic colors manufactured with actual metal pigments in alcohol based formula which results in a metallic finish of extraordinary realism and permanence.
The colors can be diluted with alcohol, mixed with one another to achieve further variations of tonality and dry rapidly on all kinds of surfaces.
Brushes are cleaned with alcohol or with the Vallejo Brush Cleaner.
Safety: Liquid Gold is flammable due to its alcohol content, but does not contain xylene or toluene.
Packaging: In 35 ml./1.18 fl.oz. plastic pots with a childproof cap.

It’s not clear to me whether Vallejo has changed their formula or whether the product was adulterated. In either case this is nothing like the Vallejo Liquid Gold I purchased at a local store two years ago. The amount of pigment relative to the solvent is drastically lower. This means the metallic particles flow in a river of solvent rather than settling smoothly onto models and forming the incredible metallic surface that is the reason I made this purchase. You can see the difference clearly if you pour some into a container and let it dry (see picture). You are left with a weird, plastic “clearcoat” whereas with the old stuff the container would dry coated with a smooth gold surface. It’s hard to imagine why Vallejo would change the formulation from something amazing to something completely and utterly awful. So I have deep suspicion that the bottle was diluted or adulterated before it reached me, but I can’t be sure until or in less I find another bottle. But I won’t be ordering this from eBay or Over The Brick again.
